How we helped bring Track and Trace to every corner of the UK

On the 24th September the Government’s Track and Trace app was launched and by now we’re all familiar with the English language version and the benefits it delivers.

But did you know that the Track and Trace app was also translated into eleven languages, ensuring that non-English speaking communities across the breadth of the UK would also be able to share these benefits.

The process of translating the app started in August when we responded to an enquiry from the Department of Health & Social Care.

Very rapidly we found ourselves part of an established software development team, managing a complex requirement with a critical delivery schedule.

If you’ve ever been involved in localising an app into multiple languages, with a tight launch deadline and many iterations, you’ll appreciate that it’s not always a walk in the park!

But with good planning and excellent resources the process becomes a whole lot easier. From a cold start, the Prestige Network team proved they were able to integrate with the development team, successfully completing each round of linguistic review and testing on both the iPhone and Android platforms.

By utilising our project management teams in the UK and Central Europe we provided an extended workday enabling the development team to minimise delay and process requests faster.

The result? An important weapon in the fight against Covid 19, became available to communities in every part of the country.

Prestige Network is proud to have made this a reality, and we continue by supporting the Government’s need to provide information and support to everyone, regardless of language.
